The ECOWAS Commissioner for Macroeconomic Policy and Economic Research and the Head of the European Union Delegation in Nigeria met May 23, 2016 to take stock of the progress of cooperation projects between the two institutions.
The two personalities analyzed several areas of cooperation between ECOWAS and the European Union including, among them, the migrations issues, the Regional Indicative Programme (RIP), the Trust Fund, the CDP donors roundtable, the coming meeting of ECOWAS partners, the sustainability of the Sahel Strategy, the regional statistics and finally the difficulties in access to information with specialized agencies responsible for implementing regional Projects of the 10th EDF.
Both officials identified potential solutions to these difficulties and have agreed to meet often enough to boost cooperation projects to achieve the regional integration process in West Africa.
