The People’s Republic of China has offered to the ECOWAS
Commission the amount of 200 000 USD (two hundred thousand U.S. dollars) to strengthen regional integration activities in West Africa.
This important contribution from China as budget support will allow ECOWAS to deal with its mission of regional economic integration in West Africa.
Last October, the Vice Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic
of China at the head of a large delegation of 30 members had achieved an official visit to the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja, Nigeria.
Previously, in July 2012, a delegation led by His Excellency Toga G. Macintosh, Vice President of the ECOWAS Commission had visited China and participated in the China-Africa Forum.
